1 in 3 Campaign Week of Action

October 22-29 2013

Hosting your own 1 in 3 Campaign event is an amazing opportunity to start a new conversation about abortion access with your friends, neighbors and community members that focuses on people rather than frustrating and divisive political debate. People across the country are planning events for the week of October 22-29. Join them!

Sign up below to host an event during the 1 in 3 Campaign Week of Action! Let us know what kind of event you’re having, and we’ll send you everything you need to get the conversation started.

Here are a few examples of the kinds of events people are planning:

  • Campus Kick Back: A casual get-together with fellow students to sit back and have a conversation on abortion. These get-togethers can be as creative or as simple as you want – a gathering with friends or members of a campus group to discuss and share stories from the Campaign, or you can integrate music, art, or spoken word and poetry.
  • Dinner or Dessert Party: Invite friends and neighbors over for a conversation about abortion. Together, your group can view or read stories submitted to the 1 in 3 Campaign, then have a discussion about the role abortion has played in women’s lives.
  • Book Club: The book, 1 in 3: These Are Our Stories, shares a range of women’s experiences with abortion care. Your book club can be held anywhere – in your home, at a local café, or at your place of work or worship. Discussion questions at the back of the book can help get your conversation started.
  • Tabling & Getting the Word Out: Set up a table on your campus or in a busy area of your town to inform your community about the 1 in 3 Campaign. Pass out buttons (we’ll give them to you!), let people know why you’re so passionate about ensuring safe abortion access, and collect petition signatures from supporters who pledge to combat abortion stigma.
